Urban Nature 10k

October 11 / Stringer's Ridge Urban 10k

Saturday, October 12, 2013 is the fantastic and unusual running experience, Stringer's Ridge's Urban Nature 10k, which showcases Stringer's Ridge. This beautiful treasure in North Chattanooga is now Chattanooga’s newest park. It has been protected through the efforts of The Trust for Public Land, Tennessee River Gorge Trust and the City of Chattanooga. This park allows people to experience a forest within minutes of downtown Chattanooga. 

The Trust for Public Land conserves land for people to enjoy, working to ensure that everyone has a place to play outside.

Run the trails near and on the ridge to make for a challenging 10k course. The race will begin and end near the Stringer's Ridge Preservation Easement. The cost for each participant is $35. All entry fees, sponsorship dollars and proceeds will go directly to our partner, The Trust for Public Land. For more information please visit our Urban Nature 10k Facebook page. 7 Bridges Marathon

7 Bridges Marathon

October 19 / Downtown Chattanooga

The 7 Bridges Marathon will begin in Renaissance Park on the North Shore of Chattanooga. Crossing the Market Street Bridge, the race will lead runners on a scenic tour of downtown Chattanooga’s bridges and riverside neighborhoods.

The half marathon course (13.1 miles) will accompany the full marathon (26.2 miles) over three bridges, splitting off at the Chattanooga Food Bank on the Tennessee Riverwalk. While the half will return over the Walnut Street Bridge and finish in Coolidge Park, the full marathon will continue over three more bridges (the C.B. Robinson, Thrasher, and Riverpark Bridges, respectively) before returning downtown to cross Walnut for the Coolidge Park finish. Come on and race!

IMAX REEL Rock Tour

The Reel Rock Film tour, presented by Triple Crown, is coming to rock downtown Chattanooga on Friday, October 11, at 7:30pm at the IMAX theater.

Tie-in, double check your harness and get ready for a mind blowing show featuring pro climbers like Yuji Hirayama, Daniel Woods, Emily Harrington, Ueli Steck, James Pearson, Hazel Findlay, and Ron Kauk exploring the limits of climbing in Borneo, Everest, Yosemite, the UK, Japan, the Alps and more.

Join us for the best climbing films in the world, plus a celebration of Southeastern Climbers' Coalition's 20th Anniversary.

Doors open at 6pm. You can get a $5 commemorative glass which will net you two free Big River Brews. Hors d'oeuvres will be on hand too, as well as an open bar for additional beverages for purchase.

The evening show also benefits the Access Fund, American Alpine Club, and Wild Trails

Country Music, Honky Tonk Row and a course designed for the ultimate adventure await you and your team. Starting in Chattanooga you will hug the Tennessee River and head northwest. Your team will run, day and night, across the rolling hills of southern Tennessee while enjoying the stunning October foliage. After the hills, you will move on to the 'stills, as you conquer the course with your team. The race (and your stamina) will wrap up, when you honky tonk your way to the Country Music Hall of Fame, in Nashville, Tennessee. She will be speaking about her climbing career and what challenges/motivates her.  Tickets will be R30 at the door.

October 25 / Coolidge Park

This 31 mile spectacular ride through the heart of the Tennessee River Gorge is open for registration.  A mass start at Coolidge Park at 8:00 AM will see dozens of canoes, kayaks and stand up paddleboards digging for the Nickajack Lake and Hale's Bar Marina in this WPA sanctioned event.  The start for the SurfSki division will be 30 minutes after all other divisions leave. Shuttle will leave at 6:30 AM from Hale's Bar Marina at Nickajack to Coolidge so think about dropping your board at Coolidge, drive to the take-out then ride the shuttle back.  Award Ceremony and Party will be Saturday night after the race at 7:00 PM at the Walker Pavilion in Cooldige Park.

Current divisions are SUP, 12' 6", 14', SurfSki and Prone.  Unlimited with registration $100.  No race day registration!

The Triple Crown brings its second leg to celebrate RiverRocks. In 2011 the Triple Crown of Bouldering made the decision to change their dates in order to be part of RiverRocks. Chattanooga is known for our Dixie Crags, the city called 2009 Rock & Ice Magazine's #1 Climbing Town in the US. This internationally known event bring the prestige of world renowned climbers to Chattanooga and RiverRocks.
