Mountain to Town is a guided downhill mountain bike adventure that highlights the scenic trails atop Lookout Mountain and how they connect to the Tennessee Riverwalk all the way to downtown Chattanooga.
Join Outdoor Chattanooga for this all-inclusive, beginner friendly adventure, which begins with a shuttle ride to the top of Lookout Mountain. Our experienced guide staff will provide ride support and instruction during the downhill ride. Use one of our new mountain bikes or use your own. Our mobile mountain bike fleet is provided by Ironman Foundation and Friends of Outdoor Chattanooga.
Enjoy breathtaking views of the city while cruising down the beginner-friendly Guild Trail, comprised of tightly packed gravel, until it connects with the paved trails of the Tennessee Riverwalk in St. Elmo. From there, the scenic and leisurely paced bike ride will continue along the shores of the Tennessee River back into downtown where we started the adventure at Outdoor Chattanooga in Coolidge Park. Participants will descend nearly 1,500 ft and only climb 340’ over the 13-mile ride. Ride time is approximately 2 hours.
This family-friendly adventure is appropriate for ages 12 and up. Riders must be able to independently ride, shift, maneuver, and operate a bike with hand brakes, listen and follow instructions and be able to make decisions quickly while moving at higher speeds in order to participate in this adventure. Reservations required in advance.
Cost: $25 per person includes bike, helmet, water bottle, transportation, guide staff and ride support.
