Practical Wilderness Medical Skills (B1) - Sheryl Olson, RN - $75 - 2.75 hours CME

This hands-on workshop focuses on wilderness improvisation skills. Skills taught will include improvising a femur traction splint, field c-spine immobilization and packaging a patient for transport, and creating a hypothermia wrap by using equipment normally available on a wilderness adventure. Many practitioners have become rusty on the basic suturing skills necessary to provide care as a backcountry provider. This workshop will allow participants to practice these skills and be reminded of appropriate materials, suture, etc. The emphasis will be on what is practical to carry and use in a remote environment.
